Accreditation and credentials

Anglia exams are accredited by Anglia Qualifications and Assessment Group and the UK Awarding Organisation Ascentis, both regulated by Ofqual — the United Kingdom’s qualifications regulator. They certify the rigour, validity and consistency of the qualifications.

Anglia is also approved by NARIC (UK), NVAO (Netherlands and Flanders), and a range of professional bodies such as the Polish KualifiKome.eu national framework.

For students at C1 (Advanced) and above, Anglia certificates are automatically recognised by UCAS — the UK university admissions service — opening access to higher education in Britain. Anglia is also a globally recognised English exam in the British university system.

Section 02

Who can take the test?

The Anglia Examinations international certificate is open to anyone of any age. The certificate is recognised by clear and reliable criteria for assessing the level of English of:

  • Resident students in the country
  • Workers in the local market
  • Candidates living anywhere in the world

What do the standardised exams from Anglia Examinations England cover?

Each Anglia exam consists of three written components: reading, writing, and use of English (grammar & vocabulary). From level A1 onwards, an additional component is also included — an oral interview by a recognised speaking examiner.

Note: a candidate must score at least 50% in each of the four skills to receive a Pass. To achieve Distinction, candidates must average 80%+ across all four skills.
